Learning Support Assistants in specialist schools work alongside teachers and school leaders to support student learning, engagement and wellbeing throughout the school day.
About our Specialist Schools:
ACT public schools include 4 specialist schools that provide education settings for students who have been diagnosed with moderate, severe or profound intellectual disability:
Our specialist schools are:
- Black Mountain School supports students in years 7 to 12 from Canberra’s northside.
- Cranleigh supports students in kindergarten to year 6 living north of Lake Burley Griffin.
- Malkara School supports students in preschool to year 6 on Canberra’s southside.
- The Woden School provides a supported high school program for students in years 7 to 12 living on the southside of Canberra.

For casual school assistant applications you will need to provide:
- Your resume/CV.
- Certified copy of your ACT Working with Vulnerable People card.
- Copies of any relevant qualifications or certificates and final academic transcripts.
- A written application of no more than three pages addressing the selection questions.
- At least one referee report, however two is preferable, from your current or most recent supervisor.
Multiple files can be uploaded but must not exceed 10MB per file. Documents uploaded must be in PDF (.pdf) or Microsoft Word formats (.docx, .doc or .rtf).
